</a></p><p>An MP guarding the Army Headquarters on Rajdamnern Nok Avenue. This avenue and the surrounding streets were shut down on Wednesday September 20, 2006. However, on Thursday, it was business-as-usual, as Thais were exhorted to return to life-as-normal with an apology "for any inconvenience" by the coup leaders.</p>]]></description>

The coup was well-received by Thai citizens not only in Bangkok. In the days following the coup, there were many reports of traffic jams throughout Thailand as Thais flocked to take photos with tanks and soldiers.</p>]]></description>

The mood was quite festive with many people taking photos of and with the soldiers as well as giving them flowers and food. The soldier is holding yellow (being the colour of HRH the King) flowers given to him previously by a Thai citizen.</p>]]></description>
