The crowds grew as more people including families came to Suan Amporn in the evening.

However, on Thursday, it was business-as-usual, as Thais were exhorted to return to life-as-normal with an apology "for any inconvenience" by the coup leaders.

Tanks and soldiers stand on guard in Suan Amporn by the Parliament in the days after the coup, with Thais and tourists coming by to take photos and drop off food and snacks.
